Parenthood journey: an intended parent story
“I had a gut feeling that I should go with Bright Futures Families and I was right.”
What month and year was your baby born?
“December 2019”
Why did you choose to use a surrogate?
"I had more than 10 years struggle with fertility and have tried the other paths without success."
How was meeting your surrogate?
“My meeting with my surrogate was very pleasant, especially with the help of staff with Bright Futures Families (Montana Surrogacy).”
What was the best part of the process?
“Best and scary part was that things progressed so fast. It was good in a way because there's hardly anytime to get cold feet. Jump in and 9 months later a precious baby in my arms.”
Which was your favorite moment during the process?
"My surrogate's family was just as supportive as my family. It was great to see the joy and goodness in everyone."
Why did you choose to work with an agency, particularly Bright Futures Families (Montana Surrogacy)?
"There was so much detail, legal and otherwise with this process that I knew I needed the help of an experienced agency. I chose Colorado Surrogacy when I met Jennifer at a Fertility Resource event. Then, Amanda from Montana Surrogacy connected me to my surrogate and helped with each process along the way. Everyone here was wonderful, professional and caring."
What was it like when you got to see and hold your baby for the first time?
"Goopy, scary, and lovely all at the same time."
What advice would you give to other intended parents?
"Once you've decided, do all your research, save up enough money plus reserve, gather plenty of support and resources, then go for it!"
