Watching the babies that I Carried Grow
Giving the gift of life is truly the most unique experience I have ever had. It was one of the hardest but most rewarding experiences, for me and my family. I didn’t think anything would top it until I had the privilege of watching those babies I carried grow, year after year. The delivery and handing of the babies over to their parents is something that I will never forget.
I am lucky enough to live in the same state as my first surro babies. I am able to see them every few months. I get to be in their lives like a cool aunt. My kids have grown up and played with them for the past four and a half years. We got to watch them be toddlers and grow into children. I look forward to seeing them on adventures, on their first day of kindergarten and hopefully I will be there when they graduate high school.
My second journey just finished, the baby just recently turned one. I only get a few picture updates. I am not local to them so I am not able to see them as much as my first surro babies. I learned to value those few updates. When I do receive a picture it brings butterflies to my tummy. It shocks me how fast time goes.
Seeing the families that I helped grow is the true reward. The relationships that I built are something that I will cherish forever. Little do these families know that every picture that they send me is sometimes the best part of my day. Something so priceless such as a picture means so much to me. If you ever think you might want that feeling of helping to create a family reach out to us.
